How old do you have to be to bartend in Florida?
Although it varies from state to state, 18 years of age is the legal serving age in Florida. While you must be 21 to drink in Florida, you may legally mix & serve alcoholic beverages @ 18. (FL Statute 562.12)

Do I need a high school diploma?
No, a high school diploma is not required to attend classes. That's the great thing about bartending, people can learn job skills and become financially independent. Professionally trained bartenders can easily start out earning from $400.00 to $800.00 per week depending on full or part-time work.

Will I learn everything I need to know to obtain a good bartending position anywhere?
Absolutely - American Bartending School has been successfully training men & women for 30 years. Our comprehensive hands on training program is designed to prepare you for a career in commercial bartending. Graduates work full & part-time after completion in clubs, restaurants, hotels, lounges, cruise ships and country clubs just to name a few. 95% of students enrolling have had no previous bartending experience! Bartending is fun and easy to learn following our program!

How long does it take to learn bartending?
The program is designed to be completed in 40 hours. American Bartending School does realize every person learns differently. If a student is not comfortable, confident or meet the standards of the school, the student can remain in class until all necessary job skills have been mastered, at no additional charge.

Do I get a book to take home?
Yes, All students receive our copyrighted Training Manual, which is regularly being updated to stay current with the industry.

Who does the training?
American Bartending Schools staff has over 30 years of on the job work experience in bartending & management. They are dedicated to preparing our students to be the best. In addition to the training manual you will learn the "tricks of the trade" from actual years of bartending experience from our highly qualified instructors.

Will the School help me find a job?
Yes, American Bartending School has an excellent job placement program available to all graduates who desire our assistance. With 30 years of experience dealing with establishments, the School does guarantee job opportunities to send graduates out on. Our job referral is a free service to all our graduates for as long as they need it. We also offer national placement assistance

What are the class hours?
American Bartending School starts a new class each week. We offer morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday classes to accommodate busy scheduling needs. Simply call our admissions office for assistance in choosing the best class times for you. The student may take any combination of the following classes until they complete all lessons required to graduate.

2 week classes:
Mornings 8:30am to 12:30pm, Afternoons 1:30pm to 5:30pm, Evenings 6:30pm to 10:30pm.

1 week classes:
8:30am to 5:30pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.

Saturday classes:
8:30am to 5:30pm for 5 weeks.

How large are the classes?
Classes are small as the School does limit the size of each class so the instructors can give personalized attention to each student.

How much is it?
The tuition is definitely affordable to anyone wanting to learn bartending. It is based on the average weekly in come of a bartender. Graduates usually earn their tuition money back the very first week on the job in tips alone! You may register for classes for only $150.
